2010 Carnival Now Confirmed

Get you diaries out! The date of Oundle Carnival for 2010 has been set for Saturday 19th June. Carnival Organisers have been meeting regularly since the massive success of last summer’s return Carnival to work on plans for the event in 2010.

It is envisaged that the day will run in a similar fashion to last year whereby there will be a full programme throughout the day and evening. The event will again be split into three parts: The Carnival Parade, The Afternoon Events and An Evening of Music & Dancing. Planning is at an early stage and input is being sought from the community to help make 2010 an even better event. See details of how you can make suggestions or get involved on the News Page.

Queen Crowning Night – 4th February

The new Carnival Queen is set to be selected and crowned on a special event on Thursday 4th February with live music (venue TBC – hopefully the Victoria Hall depending on refurbishment schedule). Young ladies from the Oundle area aged between 16 and 24 are invited to participate by entering into the competition to find Oundle’s 2010 Carnival Queen.

Contestants will be asked to parade and then will be interviewed by a panel of judges. Aside from the selection of the Queen, a number of young local bands will be providing live entertainment. The evening will end with the announcement of the new Queen, who will then be crowned.
